UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made a surprising move by delivering food to residents in a last-minute effort to connect with voters before the national elections on Thursday, July 4.
Katherine Forster, a UK citizen, was taken aback when her egg muffin order was delivered by Sunak himself. Forster shared her experience on social media, noting the Prime Minister’s early morning delivery at 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
Forster posted on X, describing her unexpected encounter: “Had probably hundreds of McDonalds breakfasts in my life….not usually handed out by the Prime Minister though. 6.20am. Egg muffin. Wrap for him.” Sunak’s gesture, however, received mixed reactions, with some criticizing it as a last-minute attempt to win votes.
Polls have not been favorable to Sunak, with the latest Survation poll predicting a landslide victory for Keir Starmer’s Labour Party. Observers suggest that Sunak’s Conservative Party might secure only 64 of the 650 seats, while Labour is projected to win 484 seats.
Sunak’s 18-month tenure as Prime Minister has been marked by economic challenges, leading many UK citizens to support opposition leader Starmer.
