Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois had to be separated after a heated confrontation during a face-off.
The two British boxers are set to fight for the IBF heavyweight world title at Wembley Stadium on September 21, as announced on Wednesday.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn disclosed that the 34-year-old threatened to smash a chair during their pre-fight interview, with the tense footage now available.
“Honestly speaking from the bottom of my heart, aside from belts and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight,” Joshua said initially.
Dubois responded, “Let’s go, let’s go. If he wants to swing, let’s go now,” to which Joshua retorted, “Shut up. Relax, relax.”
Dubois then challenged, “Do you want to go now? Let’s go. Do you want to go now?” Joshua, still agitated, replied, “Relax… [Do you want] this f****** chair across your face? Don’t disrespect me.”
Dubois repeatedly stated, “You can’t intimidate me,” while Joshua continued to warn him against disrespect.
“Who do you think you are?” Dubois asked, prompting Joshua to reiterate, “Daniel, don’t disrespect me…”
The situation escalated as Joshua stood up, with Dubois and his promoter Frank Warren following suit before security intervened.
“Don’t disrespect me on my life, little boy,” Joshua said, visibly frustrated, as Dubois was held back.
