President Tinubu has issued a directive banning ministers, heads of agencies, and other government officials from embarking on public-funded foreign trips for three months, starting from April 1st, 2024.
The President stipulated that government officials intending to travel on public-funded international trips must seek and obtain presidential approval at least two weeks prior to the trip. Such trips must also be deemed absolutely necessary.
This directive aims to curb unnecessary expenditure and ensure that international trips are undertaken only when essential for the country’s interests.
