Nigerians have been reassured of the Armed Forces and other security agencies’ commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the nation.
Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa provided these assurances during a visit to Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Government House in Jos on Monday.
Speaking to journalists after the visit, General Musa emphasized the importance of public cooperation with the military in combating insecurity by reporting and exposing criminal activities to security agencies.
Governor Mutfwang, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for directing security agencies to restore peace in Plateau State. He noted that these efforts have brought relative peace and normalcy to the troubled areas of the state.
General Musa was accompanied by senior military officers from the Defence Headquarters, along with a General Officer Commanding Three Division of the Nigerian Army and the commander of Operation Safe Haven.
The visit aimed to assess the progress made by security personnel in operational areas, ensuring peace in affected communities, and reaffirm the military’s commitment to safeguarding the nation.
As the military and other security agencies intensify their efforts to secure the nation, the cooperation and support of citizens are essential to boosting troop morale in the fight against insecurity.
